The Snohomish County Fire District 5 swiftwater team trains frequently to refresh their skills. The training includes self rescue, rope work, river familiarization, and other skills needed to efficiently react to emergencies on the river as well as swimming and rescues in class 3 rapids. Familiarity with various water craft used for rescue means that working with rafts and inflatable kayaks is a part of training as well. The District 5 Swiftwater team is often joined by firefighters from other Snohomish County Fire Districts as well. Thanks to Wave Trek Rescue for providing the March 2023 training depicted here.
